Style: Cave Painting
Period: 15000-13000 B.C.
Similar Works: Lascaux and Font-du-Gaume Caves
Medium: charcoal on acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "I first painted on the canvas paper in several layers of paint, creating a very course rock-like texture, which would also lend itself to the containment of the dust and fragments of the later-applied charcoal. I used earth tone, along with black charcoal to simulate the blud and fat pigments used by prehistoric artists. I also applied the charcoal relatively crudely to capture the style and form of the prehistoric artists' animal figures."

Style: Pop Art
Period: 1990
Similar Works: Abstract Painting (726) by Gerhard Richter
Medium: acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "Like in Richter's masterpiece, my artistic creation circumvents the trite stylized form widely accepted, forsaking realism to fully express and embrace the emotions. Colours and form do not directly correlate to any 'realistic' visual representation, with the brush stroke of the artist not only interpreting their view of the subject matter, but additionally the emotional feelings they are currently inundated in. Brush strokes are course and fast, capturing a moment in time: both the subjective view of the subject matter and the psychological state of the artist translated into a 2-dimensional graphical representation."

Style: Impressionistic
Period: 1889
Similar Works: Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh
Medium: acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "Both Van Gogh's piece and my masterpiece both embody the principle of "visual movement." The viewer's eye is led throughout the composition by the movement-oriented brush strokes so delicately and repetitively applied. Colours are both dark and light, albeit not in the traditional sense of dark areas and light areas, but with the full range of values completely enveloping the piece, making this masterpiece beauty incarnate. Of primary concern, however, is the general movement throughout the composition that is created by the brush strokes arranged to create obvious movement with spirals, lines and geometric forms."

Style: Abstract Expressionism
Period: 1939
Similar Works: Night Fishing at Antibes by Pablo Picasso
Medium: acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "In both my composition and the master's work, the exact form of objects is relegated in importance below the pure expression of emotion. A dark background forms the base of both works, with unrealistic images representing the subject matter. Throughout the compositions are seemingly random designs painted vibrantly and richly. However, these designs were not impromptly done, rather, they are the end result of hours of brainstorming and theorizing. These abstract designs represent the deepest outpouring of the artists' emotions."

Style: Surrealism
Period: 1936
Similar Works: Soft Construction with Boiled Beans: Premonition of Civil War by Salvador Dali
Medium: acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "In both Dali's work and mine, the ordinary is pushed aside for the imagination of the artist to create the form and values of the composition. Sometimes inaccurately called a 'dream world', surrealism is actually the culmination of the artist's dreams, beliefs, and view of the subject. In dali's work, unrealistic shapes represent the subject, while in mine realism is the dominate style of painting. However, my composition has a fictional character, MEGA MAID, preparing to suck the life-giving air from planet Druidia. Lonestar's Winnebago is attempting to infiltrate Mega Maid to end her reign of terror. This scene is excellently rendered in the film SPACEBALLS"

Style: Egyptian Tomb Painting
Period: 4000 B.C.
Similar Works: Tomb Paintings
Medium: acrylic on canvas

In the words of the artist: "My final masterpiece is one I hold dear to my heart. It is my Egyptian tomb painting displaying Queen Statue of Liberty holding the tablet and torch of Ancient Egypt. The hieroglyphs tell of the ancient story, and the seal of the high priest Hollyrock seals the tomb for eternity."
